  • Are Interior Design services included in the project?

    Yes! We offer design selection services for any project. Please message us for more details

  • How long does it take to complete a full set of plans for construction?

    Hours vary with the scope of work. A typical 2500 sqft home can take 4 weeks to draft. We allow homeowners to dictate time-frame. This gives the opportunity to review plans, research and price project so that the design stays in budget. 

  • What are some design features that a client needs to provide prior to the first consultation design meeting?

    A goal would be wish list. Needs and Wants. Square footage of home. Style is important. If a land survey is provided that is helpful as well to know any restriction on lot. 

  • Do you have recommendations to hire a builder/contractor if we do not already have one?

    Yes! ARJ Home Design has built many relationships with builders and contractors in the Birmingham area. It is best to work as a team during the design process. So, having a contractor involved is helpful.

  • At what point during the construction phase are plans needed?

    Designing plans are needed to receive adequate pricing as well as submitting for local permits. Construction plans are recommended to complete at least 3 months prior to start of project.
